Impressions – Part 2

More costumes… more golden oldies.

The next scene of Impressions, which was again shot on the Sound’r sim, was all about the windlight, and my favourite outfit at the time – Disturbia, by Winter Moon (who is currently, I’m very sad to say, having an end of business sale. Snap it all up, because her stuff is fantastic!) It went perfectly with a hunt gift skin Tuli had set out called Maya, with black bleeding eyes, and Naoki hair by Kin. The guns were by Breach and the boots – shocking, I know – were Ving Boots by Shiny Things. Further proof, were any needed, that I seldom took those boots off once I’d bought them.

The rose garden we found in the courtyard of a temple that’s sadly no longer there – a shame, as it was a very pretty build. It featured Roewan Silks in crimson by Analise, with Tiana hair by ETD and Belleza‘s Jesse skin.

The pirate scene was shot at Dead Man’s Chest among the ships – a brilliant place to play if you entertain swashbuckling fantasies. The whole outfit was a Halloween special last year by TCKZ, called Bootleg Annie, and is no longer available. I’m wearing it with one of Dutch Touchs gorgeous new skins.

Chou Chou is one of my favourite sims for its simple elegance – much like the dress I picked, Darken Bliss by Phoenix Rising, matched with ETD’s Tiana hair again and Laqrokis Lacie Glow Skin. Barefoot, of course, while walking through the shallows.

And finally Artilleri, my favourite retro sim and favourite retro clothing. Almost everything shown, apart from the Catalyst Thigh High Boots from The Abyss, came from Artilleri: the Lily skin in Kiss, Sabrina hair in black, Corinne poof dress and Leopard Pants to finish off the look – another of my all-time favourites.

One more set impending…

80 Days Around The World

More costume shopping… same video, very different theme. As you might have already noticed, this project involved playing characters from a selection of famous novels: in this case, from Around The World In 80 Days.

80 Days

The Phileas Fogg character we dressed in Steampunk Leather Touch by J.Saww with glasses from KTG and Laqroki‘s Roulette hair – spiffy and very Victorian.

Meanwhile, his valiant travelling companion (moi) wore an 1880s Red Sating Bustle Dress by Timeless Elegance with WillowC hair from Tiny Bird and eyes by Clover. The skin was “Doe 2″ in Petal from Curio‘s June range.

We shot the scene at Victoriana Square (thank you LittleBlackDuck Lindsay!) using a steampunk style hot air balloon I found at Selkett’s Workshop. I have since decided I wish to travel everywhere in it – with my own spiffy Victorian chauffeur (or is that pilot?).

Medusa

Medusa ScreenshotHave you ever tried to find mythical beast costumes in SL? Not as easy as it sounds, let me tell you – not ones from Ovid’s Metamorpheses, anyway. The scene we needed to film was the death of Medusa, but nowhere could I find a costume that would work.

BareRose, as it has a tendency to do, saved the day – is there anything at all that can’t be found in that store? I used the “Golden Thorn” outfit, slightly de-primmed, and paired it with snake hair, tail and other accessories by OctopusDropkick Sorbet. The skin is by LionSkins and is from the limited edition Noir range (number 20).

Medusa

We shot the scene on Mystique, in a little magical cave made by Luna Cartier and Leyla Firefly – worth a visit for a romantic wander.

We dressed our Perseus in !RFyre‘s Grecian Warrior Series (No. 1 Bronze) with Laqroki‘s “Roulette” hair and a spear and shield by H&S Design. Not sure how afraid of him my Medusa was – mostly I just wanted to stroke his thighs.
